Launched in August by AB Yachts of Fipa Group, the new luxury motor yacht AB 116 is currently on display at the Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes. Superyacht AB116 boasts a hull and the superstructure in two different tones of grey and like every jewel of this line, she is based on the idea of navigating at high speed with any sea condition without compromising comfort, thanks to wide and broad interior spaces.
The construction techniques used are those for which AB Yachts have become renowned, that is lightweight materials, advanced composites and special bonding methods that have become the point of reference in the yachting industry. Powered by 3 MTU 16V2000M94 engines coupled to 3MJP water jets she can reach 50 knots of speed and a cruising speed of 44 knots.
The imperatives that have guided the development of her interior are the design and high-level stylistic approach, as well as utmost attention to the smallest details. Inside the yacht, white and grey colours predominate creating an elegant continuity between exterior and interior. The floors made of hand-planed larch essence give a warm welcome to its visitors and fits perfectly with the essence of white wood furniture. The main saloon was conceived to give guests onboard pleasant feel of comfort and entertainment. Equipped with a spacious U-shaped sofa, a TV furniture and a large dining table for ten people enlightened by a sliding ceiling.
The main characteristic of this AB 116 yacht is undoubtedly her second saloon located on the lower deck where the windowing in front of the main wheelhouse acts as alight well and bathes this area in natural light thereby ensuring a complete relaxation under open skies for its occupants.
Located aft of this lower deck saloon is the guest accommodation which features 2 twin and 1double VIP cabins, each en-suite with their own bathroom, and a grand full-beam master cabin with large portholes which give the impression of being in contact with the sea. This master cabin is itself divided in several distinct areas: a lounge, the main bathroom and the sleeping area with its king-size bed.A feature common to all cabins, that makes them unique and cannot leave its visitors speechless is the motif of the headboard; blades of grass and leaves of ferns decorate in different ways, but with continuity, each cabin. In the Master Suite, the same decoration has even more space: further to the headboard, it is on the sliding door of the bathroom and on the door of the shower. In the bathrooms, the contrast of the white lacquered furniture and the carbon fibre used for all the sanitary fixtures and the floor make an elegant and refined environment.
Forward of the lower saloon area aboard motor yacht AB 116 there are the crew quarters with the main galley, the crew salon with its private galley, the two twin crew cabins in addition to the Captain Cabin with the respective bathrooms. The extreme care of the Owner towards his crew is demonstrated by the use of noble materials also in the area devoted to them.
The maximum attention to detail is also manifest in the outside deck areas of superyacht AB116: the teak-laid cockpit is conceived to maximise spaces dedicated to relaxation and a lounge atmosphere is created with designer sofas and arm chairs. The foredeck features another user-friendly zone with a U-shaped sofa as well as a sunbathing area. Truly spacious sofas and sunbathing areas are also present on the flybridge where the upper wheelhouse position is located in the middle and another dining area with fridge, ice-maker and a barbecue is located aft.
Full customisation, comfort and unrivalled performances are what AB Yachts stand for as a worldwide leader in the construction of waterjet propulsion cruisers.
