Two of the most distinct members of the Lurssen superyacht fleet, the 63m Motor yacht Polar Star and the 78m megayacht TV (ex Mad Summer) have recently completed yacht refinishing projects at Rybovich Shipyard in West Palm Beach, Fl. Both projects were executed simultaneously by the Rybovich Refinishing Team in custom climate controlled enclosures erected in the water.
Lurssen Yacht TV received a new custom grey paint color created by Dupont that has come to be called “TV Grey.” This replaced her previous powder blue hull she once displayed when named M/Y Mad Summer.
Polar Star Yacht received comprehensive refinishing of the hull and superstructure. Captain Maxx Ainsworth, who brought the vessel to the United States specifically to be painted at Rybovich, hired Paint Surveyor, Peter Bergsma to determine the paint standards. Rybovich exceeded Bergsma’s acceptance criteria, considered to be among the most stringent in the yachting industry, and delivered the vessel on time. “This was a very difficult refit. We are grateful to the Rybovich Team for delivering quality work within the timeframe we agreed upon,” said Captain Maxx who was extremely pleased with the result.
Both Lurssen superyacht projects required timely delivery in order to meet the hauling schedule at BAE Shipyard in Jacksonville, Fl where M/Y Polar Star and TV yacht were dry docked for bottom paint.
Consistently delivering superyacht paint projects of this caliber have established Rybovich as a leader in Superyacht Refinishing. As a result, Rybovich has booked multiple superyacht paint projects including Superyacht Princess Mariana a 78M Royal Denship yacht and 55m M/Y La Masquerade built by Amels, both currently underway.
