A Class Racing Schooner Elena, launched in 2009 was built in Spain under the watchful, eye and experienced hand of Steve McLaren, a tremendously knowledgeable and respected superyacht captain. Captain McLaren also built and ran the beautiful Bruce King designed 120 foot sailing yacht Alejandra for a number of years and then turned to classic yachts by taking the helm of “Eleonora”. Steve’s experience along with the owner’s enthusiasm will showcase the elegant Sailing yacht Elena at a number of regattas throughout the Caribbean this season. She will make an incredible sight as she races around Barbados on January 21st aiming to beat the schooner record of 10 hours 20 minutes set by her old rival Captain Lou Kennedyʼs “Sea Fox” back in 1936.
