Luxury yacht Q43 has been delivered to her owner from the Mulder shipyard and is the seventh hull in the Mulder ThirtySix series. Her sleek superstructure and Matterhorn white hull are the work of naval architect van Oossanen and exterior designer Claydon Reeves.
“Our brief was to create a home from home for a family new to yachting, who wanted all the adventure and touring possible. For real adventuring you need to get into all the bays and shallow anchorages as well as feel comfortable with ocean crossings and big seas all of which make these 36-meter yachts from the family run Dutch shipyard the very best choice on the market.”
Her interior is the work of Vickers Studio who have created a personalised space with light white backgrounds framed in walnut joinery, turquoise and green/blue fabrics and custom carpets. The décor was inspired by the organic wall art featured throughout the yacht including seagrass and sea forests. Red highlights have been used in two of the guest suites to reflect the owner’s love of the shade and with fabrics sourced from Jean Paul Gaultier among others. The family love their coffee, so the barista facilities are second to none and feature prominently in the open salon.
John Vickers commented on the design, “We are so pleased to have been part of the design team for the new launch Q43, the latest Mulder Shipyard 36m. Our collaboration with Mulder on these 36m yachts has been so rewarding for us as designers, and the success of this yacht series are proven yet again with this new launch of hull number 7.”
Power comes from twin Caterpillar C18 engines which deliver a top speed of 16.8 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. She has set sail for Norway to be greeted by her delighted new owners who will then spend the summer season in the Mediterranean.
Motor yacht Q43 will be showcased at the Cannes Yachting Festival from 10 to 15 September and at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show from 30 October to 3 November this year.
