The 2nd East Asia Marina Forum, organised by Seoul Marina in South Korea from 26th to 28th November, saw ICOMIA President Peter Methven Obe, Marine Leisure Division Director of Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of Korea Hwang Jong Woo, Chairman of Marina Industries Association of Korea Lee Seung Jae and a number of industry experts from Korea, China, Japan and Australia gather to discuss the latest in marina trends and developments in the region.
The 2nd East Asia Forum was organised by the Marina Industries Association of Korea (MIAK). The forum opened with a welcome speech by Mr Lee, Chairman of MIAK, followed by the Korea Government’s plans and supports in developing the Korea Marine Industry by Mr Hwang, Marine Leisure Division Director of Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. It was followed by a series of presentations prepared by industry experts from Korea, China, Japan and Australia covering all aspects of the industry.
Nansha Marina General Manager, MR Albert Khong was among the invited speakers, presenting on the China’s Marina Development and sharing with the audience on boater behaviour, boating culture, marina management policies, challenges and opportunities faced by the Chinese Boating Industry.
The 2nd East Asia Forum has become an important communication platform where the leading experts from different corners of the industry exchanged their views and knowledge on the general market situation and latest trends of the Industry development in the region. It has also played a significant role in strengthening the connections between the Marina Industry Associations and Professional Industry Organisations of East Asia.
