50m motor yacht Northern Sun was launched by the Japanese shipyard Narasaki Shipbuilding in 1976 as the Japanese ice-class marine research vessel Hokko Maru analyzing marine life and ocean currents in the North Japan sea. From 2005 to 2009, the Northern Sun superyacht was completely converted into a long-range luxury expedition vessel to cruise in the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. This beautiful vessel will be on display at this year´s popular Hainan Rendez-Vous, held from April 5th – 8th.

All-steel luxury yacht Northern Sun (ex Hokko Maru, Northern Light) is powered by twin Yanmar 6G-UT diesel engines, giving her an ability to reach a top speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 10.5 knots. Northern Sun boasts a beam of 9m (29´53´´) and a draught of 5m (16´40´´).
