Nauta Yachts, the concept creators and interior and exterior designers for the RP-NAUTA 100′ sailing yacht, has provided more details on the vessel currently being built by Southern Wind.
Commissioned by an experienced yachtsman, the Owner began the design process with Nauta Yachts back in 2017 and Reichel Pugh Yacht Design joined the team shortly thereafter as naval architects for the project.
The brief called for an exceptional performance cruiser with an aggressive and sporty appearance, and as a superyacht that was intended to remain with the original Owner for many years to come, the technological systems on board needed to be top of the line.
Southern Wind chose three main targets for the construction:
- Functionality for safe, reliable and comfortable navigation
- Performance for competitiveness in the worlds’ greatest regattas
- Eye-catching exterior profile that will turn heads at marinas across the globe
The result is a fast 63-ton carbon fibre racing yacht fitted with a lifting keel that changes from 6.1m/20ft to 3.9m/12.8ft. The flush foredeck is fitted with skylights to illuminate all guest cabins below and the sleek coachroof joins on to a recessed cockpit.
The interiors follow the same sharp modern seafaring look as the exteriors, as requested by the Owner. There is a spacious central cabin with a studio, four forward cabins and two crew cabins along with the navigation centre, galley and crew mess to the aft.
Sailing yacht RP-NAUTA 100′ is expected for delivery in spring 2020.
