Nautor’s Swan has launched its fourth Swan 115 series hull and named the sailing yacht ODIN.
The shipyard describes the flush deck design as ‘the most technology-advanced boat ever built at Nautor’, and her hull construction, sailing systems, mast and keel ensure that she is competitive at a world-class level. Designed by German Frers as a long-distance and bluewater cruiser, the Swan 115 comes either as a semi-raised saloon version for on board casual living and relaxation, and the flush deck version designed for racing.
As a result, S/Y ODIN has a maximum waterline-length hull developed for fast-paced racing with lighter weight conditions. This is in contrast to deeper hull shapes that are unable to accelerate due to a loss of sailing length. A strengthened hull, optimised keel fin paired with a deep keel and heavy bulb allow Swan 115 sailing yachts higher righting movement. The lifting keel on S/Y ODIN changes from 6.75m/22ft to 4.6m/15ft for better access to shallow anchorages without losing her edge while racing. ODIN also has an extensive sail plan and rigging with mainsails designed for cruising and racing.
Luxury yacht ODIN will make her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018 running from the 26th-29th of September.
