The highly anticipated motor yacht Adastra was launched earlier this week at the McConaghy Boats China facility. Described as “one of the world’s most amazing Superyachts”, the Adastra superyacht has already been turning heads in China as well as Hong Kong where she is undergoing a series of sea trials.
McConaghy Boats Managing Director Mark Evans who is based full time in China, was extremely pleased at what they have achieved: “Adastra has been a fantastic project to be involved in, it is a testament to McConaghy and everyone who was involved. She is a magnificent vessel and highlights the company’s craftsmanship.”
The stunning interior was designed by Jepsen Design in Hong Kong and custom built by McConaghy. Indeed it was not only the luxury yacht Adastra’s superstructure that was constructed by McConaghy, but also virtually every detail was built in-house: the very sleek and lightweight interior panels, the unique carbon fibre hatches, carbon portlights and carbon ladders, most impressive though are the 3 custom carbon fibre anchor winches and anchor arms which neatly fold away to be hidden inside Adastra’s sleek lines.
Designers of the superyacht Adastra, Shuttleworth Design were there for her first splash “We were very excited to see her launched successfully and she floated as expected” said John Shuttleworth “As designer we are pleased to see that a boat of such complexity came in on weight and are looking forward to the sea trials.”
Adastra’s exterior detailing was styled by Orion Shuttleworth Design.
