Luscious all-aluminium 41m/134ft luxury yacht TATYANA (ex.BLIND DATE) from Lurssen is back from her comprehensive refit in as-new condition and is ready for charter in the Western Mediterranean, visiting such destinations as the South of France, and the islands of Corsica and Sardinia. Captain Thomas Schmidt reveals his favourite destinations and talks about the recent refit, looking forward to welcoming guests on board for a relaxing and fun vacation.
Which area on board received the most comprehensive refit?
All-in-all I think we can say that the yacht is back to the as-new condition: All electronics and entertainment systems, as well as the engine room, are like new. The generators received a comprehensive overhaul and new pumps and air conditioning compressors were installed.
At least half of the teak deck has also been replaced and there is increased energy efficiency by switching the old lights with LED bulbs. However, one of the most noticeable improvements is the new quieter stabiliser system.
How has the refit made TATYANA safer for guests and crew?
TATYANA had four new zero-speed stabilisers installed during her refit. These stabilisers are brand new on the market and they are electric instead of hydraulic, which greatly reduces the noise emitted. The four stabilisers instead of the usual two give the vessel greater stability at anchor: The maximum angle I have measured was only 1.5 degrees inclination while at anchor.
What are your favourite improvements on board?
My favourite improvement on board is, unsurprisingly, the new stabiliser system, which is an ongoing benefit to guests and crew throughout the charter. I am also very happy with the new electronics systems and of course our new tender, which is a real beauty.
What makes TATYANA a truly outstanding yacht for charter?
TATYANA is a German-built luxury yacht from the highly reputable Lürssen shipyard; built for performance as well as guest comfort, you will not find another 30-50m (98-164ft) Lürssen on the market with the ability to go up to 18 – 19 Knots in cruising speed and at the same time with a very low fuel consumption of 230 litres at a cruising speed of 12 Knots.
Tell us about your crew members and how they make yacht charters aboard M/Y TATYANA so unforgettable?
TATYANA has a cheerful and multi-lingual crew that has given this luxury yacht her glowing charter reputation. All of them speak at least English and Spanish and three of the Crew even speak German; this all together means that TATYANA is a multi-lingual yacht, which is not often found on the charter market.
What is your favourite charter ground and why?
My personal favourite charter grounds are the Balearics as well as Sardinia and in Corsica mostly the coast around Bonifacio. I have 30 years’ experience in these areas and not once wished for the Caribbean Sea whilst travelling in these stunning regions. They are absolutely perfect places for both water sports and untouched natural scenery (most of it is protected) and with beautiful clear blue waters to enjoy a fiery sunset.
MORE ABOUT TATYANA
EXTERIOR
The main deck aft provides a large space for the storage of tenders on the sides, with the central area left clear for guests to use as desired. Two staircases lead down to the swim platform for easy access to the sea and the water toys and tenders, while a starboard staircase connects to the upper deck aft.
Here, guests have a comfortable shaded setting to enjoy each other’s company while dining alfresco in style, and after the meal seating integrated into the stern provides drinks tables for guests and visitors to socialise and watch the sun sink over the horizon. As an alternative place to rest outdoors, guests looking for some peace and quiet away from the main group have a love-seat in front of the helm station to take in the uninterrupted views.
Soak in the sunshine and savour the incredible views from the sundeck, where two broad sun pads take up the forward section and to the aft, C-shaped seating follows the stern. The mid-section is shaded by the hardtop and features a wet bar with a great selection of drinks, as well as an L-shaped sofa for casual alfresco dining out of the heat.
INTERIOR
The lower deck layout places the engine room to the aft and the guest accommodation amidships, which consists of one large Master suite with a sitting room in the open plan layout, plus two bathrooms containing a shower and a tub respectively. Two en-suite double cabins are placed forward of the stairway and the bow section is dedicated to the crew accommodation.
The main deck forward hosts a spacious light-filled VIP stateroom which provides occupants with armchairs, a desk and a generous en-suite bathroom. Behind the VIP stateroom is a foyer with seating and a table that can be used as a breakfast area between family and friends.
The main salon provides a warm and inviting lounge, where guests can relax on the sofas placed near the aft sliding doors or have a meal together at the square formal dining table in the centre of the room. The rosy panelling adds to the ambience and the wooden shutters along the windows allow guests to choose the light level inside while ensuring privacy after dark.
After a busy day, guests can unwind in the air-conditioned sky lounge and re-hydrate with a drink from the bar while catching up on the latest sports on the wall-mounted widescreen TV or challenging friends at the games table.
2 x MTU 16V396 TB94 engines produce a top speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots.
Motor yacht TATYANA is available for charter in the Western Mediterranean from €95,000 per week plus expenses. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to charter her in as-new condition for your next holiday or special event charter.
