The prestigious German shipbuilder Nobiskrug announced the construction of their new 80m superyacht project. The yacht design was drawn by Gregory C. Marshall. This is one of the three vessels designed by Gregory C. Marshall with Nobiskrug.
At the traditional keel-laying ceremony in Kiel, the owner placed the coin underneath the keel, which will remain there until the yacht construction is completed. Once the project is completed, the coin will be returned tot he owner, as a symbol of good luck and fortune.
It has been a great start of the year for the shipbuilder. Delivered to her owner in February 2017, Nobiskrug Sailing Yacht A has already received recognition as one of the greatest superyachts in the world, in terms of technology and design.
“This happy occasion indicates the start of the hull assembly of the superyacht – when, for the first time she is considered to have a soul. It is also a traditional maritime ceremony to bring good fortune to a vessel during her construction and to her captain, guests and crew during her life” said Holger Kahl, Managing Director.
Very little information has been revealed on the 80m superyacht project. It is believed to be scheduled for delivery in 2019.
