The complete list of nominees for this year’s Asia Boating Awards has now been released, with some new and exciting entries, as well as some industry stalwarts. Asian yacht builders have been growing in global market share and are now starting to get worldwide media recognition. Representing Asia’s eagerly awaited event in the yachting industry, the 10th annual Asia Boating Awards will be held at Hotel ICON in Hong Kong on May 9, the same day that the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show opens at the Hong Kong Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club.
In recognising the China market and environmental issues, the awards this year feature three new categories: Best China Yacht Club / Marina of the Year, Best Brand Presence in China and Green Maritime Company of the Year.
This year sees awards in 21 categories, showcasing Asian builders and international brands, as well as Asian regattas, marinas and yacht designers working in Asia. The pioneering Asia Boating Awards is the first event to recognise the efforts and successes of Asian yacht builders.
The list of nominees comes from online polling of Asia-Pacific Boating readers, with final winners being determined by a panel of judges selected for their expertise as well as their ability to make informed, impartial decisions.
Parmigiani, K. Wah International Holdings, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Jebsen Fine Wines, Grey Goose, Dornbracht and Embraer are the sponsors this year, along with Baccarat, which is providing the trophies.
This year, Asia Pacific Boating is inviting readers, yachting enthusiasts, yacht owners, yacht builders, marina operators, regatta organisers, yacht charter companies, brokers, and designers to submit their choices in each of the categories online. You may nominate in as many or as few categories as you wish. Or even just one. The top five nominees in each category, based on a plurality of nominations, will be sent to a panel of judges for their final consideration.
Nominations of Asia Boating Awards 2014 are now closed.
