Currently under construction at Northern Marine, the hull number 8501 motor yacht Blood Baron is progressing well. The Blood Baron yacht’s glazing is built to ABS standards and features fully heated pilothouse windows with invisible wires – a new technology offered by Glasshape.
Ideal for pilothouse or bridge windows, DuraShield™ Heated Marine Glass offers clear visibility and durable performance for extreme cold conditions. Unlike film or wire heated windows, this glass features a metallic clear interlayer, which enables electrical current to spread evenly through the glazing. An adjustable control allows increase or decrease of temperature as needed. With the heating protected in the interlayer, DuraShield™ Heated Marine Glass offers years of performance and durability.
Glasshape will be at Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (FLIBS) for the first time this year. In a large booth, clients will be able to see and touch color samples, review previous projects, and even meet some of the staff from New Zealand! The company is launching three key products there which are revolutionary: Ezone – a clear yacht glass that reflects heat and reduces pilothouse temperature, PiratShield – an intruder-resistant and bullet retardant marine glass that offers up to 1 hour attack time resistance from axes, sledgehammers, and even… a 9mm handgun, as well as SwitchShield – a product offering complete privacy at the flick of a switch.
