Numarine 78 Flybridge motor yacht STILL WATER has become the very first US charter yacht entering the waters of Cuba since the trade embargo between the two countries was implemented in the 1960’s. Last week saw luxury yacht STILL WATER dock in Marina Hemingway close to Havana, hosting 12 American guests and a crew of 3 members, having crossed the Straits of Florida and Gulf Stream after a departure from Key West.
The passengers and crew on board STILL WATER yacht entered the country under a license granted by the U.S.Treasury Department and they operated in strict compliance with U.S. Visa Laws and Procedures.
It is expected that tourism to the region will be boosted by this news, with ferries from the United States now aiming to achieve the same result.
It is important to note for holiday makers planning a Cuba trip that stringent rules surrounding access to Cuba still apply. Likewise, yachts interested in visiting the country and cruise the area should seek professional broker advice before planning their trip.
