The MCY 96 superyacht designed by Nuvolari-Lenard for Monte Carlo Yachts will be on display at three yacht shows this autumn: the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Genoa International Boat Show and the Monaco Yacht Show.
Fitting between the multi-award-winning 105 and the popular 86 superyachts in terms of scale, Nuvolari-Lenard was challenged with creating a fresh idea for the appearance and layout of the MCY 96. The latest hull is the seventh model from Monte Carlo Yachts and Nuvolari-Lenard collaborations, with the latter producing a cohesive interior and exterior style while the yard worked on her naval architecture and engineering.
“Through the MCY 96, we sought to identify a common thread that links all of our Monte Carlo Yachts models, so they would be identifiable as a family, regardless of the overt style and technicalities,” said Carlo Nuvolari of Nuvolari-Lenard.
“That common thread was beauty, and the sensation felt by those who see the yachts and cannot forget them. Beauty is found in balanced design and harmony in proportions, not aggressive lines or those that merely suggest speed. Beauty is never restricted by the narrow rules of architecture and design, but it is found in the feelings of those who experience something that we have designed.”
Described by Monte Carlo Yachts as “a symbol of the company’s vision and strategy for the future”, the MCY 96 features high bulwarks, and bright interiors from the application of floor-to-ceiling windows, side balconies and skylights to create a greater connection with the outside world.
Future MCY owners have the choice of 6 internal layouts with greater customisation available on request. The Owner’s suite is placed upon the main deck, where there is a spacious main lounge that leads onto the aft deck where guests can watch the changing landscape from the seating on the stern. Alternatively, the bow holds two lounge areas and a generous sunpad for making the most of peaceful sunny days.
Four further guest cabins of equal size are located on the lower deck. Forward of the guest accommodation, there is a crew area which consists of a galley and accommodation for up to 6 crew members.
