The world-renowned UK superyacht design studio, Dubois Naval Architects, is pleased to announce that the 2015 NZ Millennium Cup will feature the Dubois Race Day. The regatta is set to run from January 21 to 23 and will be hosted by the breath-taking Bay of Islands yacht charter destination, nestled in New Zealand.
The Millennium Cup is the South Pacific’s premier superyacht regatta and since its inception in 2000, the event has enjoyed growth in both attending yacht numbers and supporting sponsors.
The sponsorship compliment features local firms and international superyacht industry names. The event takes care to incorporate the best of New Zealand hospitality and guests will enjoy three days of shore-side entertainment and three exciting races.
There are three returning Dubois entrants; 39.7m superyacht Janice of Wyoming, 36m charter yacht Bliss, and reigning champion, 33m luxury yacht Silvertip. Other competing yachts include sailing yacht Silencio, Sassafras yacht, Steinlager II and Antaeus.
“In recognition of the significant number of Dubois-designed superyachts built by New Zealand yards, and Ed Dubois’ ongoing stance of support towards the New Zealand industry, the NZ Marine Export Group have named one of the 2015 Millennium Cup race days, the Dubois race day. Race organisers are delighted Ed will be participating in the 2015 Millennium Cup, sailed for the first time in the picturesque waters of New Zealand’s Bay of Islands.” – Peter Busfield, NZ Marine’s CEO.
