In order to meet a growing demand for safety in the field of cruising, Ocean Data System decided to develop a new version of its “UpSideUp”, a security system, which is already known for its anti-capsize function. This new version has been recently set aboard the brand new Sunreef 80 Carbon Line yacht Levante, which was presented at the recently concluded Cannes International Boat Show. It provides a large range of functions dedicated to the control and supervision of the rigging. Its design is also adapted to the yachting world expectations.
The UpSideUp is still available in the Easy version with its original functions: anti-capsize, load limitation, and in its Master version, which offers a solution to manage critical situations such as shadows, wind strengthening, man over board…, to monitor and control all parameters, and also new functionalities such as a water invasion detector, and an alarm manager. Both versions can be adapted to any type of multihull.
The NDR (Navigation Data Recorder) is a multifunction recording device adapted to sailing boats. It will be interesting for owners and fleet managers, and also for shipyards and architects, as well as for insurance companies in an indirect way. This device is able to trace the history of a boat’s activity, act as a black box in case of incident, and record data for the post processing. The NDR can be used alone or connected to an UpSideUp.
More and more shipyards and owners are using Ocean Data System products and choosing the options or functionalities that suit their needs.
