The new Oceanco Superyacht VIBRANT CURIOSITY wins the 2010 Asia Boating Awards supreme award for the Best Custom Built Yacht – 150 feet and up. The yacht has a length of 85 metres and a beam of 46.59-feet.

Yacht VIBRANT CURIOSITY is a large private motor yacht at 85 m LOA. She was launched by the Dutch yacht builder Oceanco (now under new ownership) at the Alblasserdam based shipyard in 2009. Vibrant Curiosity is the fourth superyacht in Oceanco’s successful “Y-series” which includes the launched yachts Amevi (Y701), Alfa Nero (Y702) and Anastasia (703).

Oceanco’s Vibrant Curiosity, the 85.47m Nuvolari-Lenard designed superyacht was awarded Best Custom-Built Yacht (150ft and up) by Asia Boating Awards during a ceremonial gala at the Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club in Hong Kong on May 8, 2010.
 
Vibrant Curiosity has definitely struck a resounding cord in the superyacht industry with her innovative design. A most distinguishing exterior feature is the triple vertical glass window strip spanning three deck levels amidships—a design never seen before on a superyacht. The yacht has environmentally-conscious features such as a sea monitoring system that is an integral part of Oceanco’s philosophy of constantly exceeding current industry initiatives and trends.
 
Vibrant Curiosity has challenged conventional wisdom on many fronts and the award is proof of the continued excellence Oceanco pursues in producing some of the most sophisticated and innovative luxury superyachts worldwide.

Nuvolari & Lenard essentially designed VIBRANY CURIOSITY, designing both the exterior and interior styling of the yacht with Vibrant Curiosity’s Naval architecture being provided by the in-house team at Oceanco and also in co-operation with Azure Naval Architects. Vibrant Curiosity is the third project for Oceanco with the Nuvolari & Lenard Italian superyacht design team.

One of the unique and interesting characteristics of the design of Vibrant Curiosity is the mid superstructure bow or strap. While looking impressive from a balancing point of view this feature allows light in a views out around the yachts foyers and  stairways.

The interior of motor yacht VIBRANT CURIOSITY was also designed yacht designers by Nuvolari (of which little is as yet public) and Lenard and her accommodation layout for 14 guests includes a feature master stateroom, 1 VIP stateroom, 3 double VIP staterooms and 2 double guest cabins.

This 85 metre motor yacht can achieve a max speed of around 18.5 knots. At her cruising speed she has a range of 5,000 nautical miles with her twin 4,680 HP MTU diesel engines.
