The eagerly awaited Dubai International Boat Show 2014 has officially opened its doors today, on March 4. Being hosted by the Dubai International Marine Club – Mina Seyahi, the show’s organisers, Dubai World Trade Centre, expect that more than 26,000 visitors from 70 nations will come to see 430 boats worth AED 1.8 billion, comprising 19 superyachts at the beautiful Marina Display Area.

Two of the largest superyachts – the 88.5 metre mega yacht Nirvana and 88 metre luxury yacht Quattroelle – in the history of the Dubai International Boat Show will be showcased on outdoor Marina Display Area. The 88.5-metre-long superyacht Nirvana, built by Oceanco and exhibited by Edmiston, is one of the world’s top 50 longest superyachts and the exhibition’s largest-ever superyacht to date.

Superyacht Nirvana is crafted using the world’s most exquisite materials and features two helipads, six decks, a stage for live performances, a 3D cinema and more. It has a range of 6,800 nautical miles, a maximum speed of 19.5 knots and can accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins with 27 onboard crew. The 88 metre Quattroelle superyacht, built by German shipyard Lürssen, will also be showcased this year. The luxury superyacht features elegant accommodation for up to 12 guests and provides plenty of exterior deck space for entertainment and relaxation.
Demonstrating the region’s growing maritime market, 750 exhibitors – with a 20% increase in new exhibitors compared to 2013 – from 50 countries around the world are looking to make a splash with a total of 42 launches including 11 global launches and 31 regional launches.

Visitors can enjoy the different sectors at the Dubai International Boat Show 2014 include The SYBAss Lounge, organised by the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss), Marina Display, Outdoor Display, Luxury Supplies and Services, Equipment Supplies and Services, Dive Middle East Exhibition, Supercar Promenade, and the Heritage Village sponsored by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. On 5 March, the Gulf Boating Conference will tackle the topic “Achieving Sustainable Growth in the GCC and Beyond”.
New this year are the On Water VIP Experience, a high-end on-board superyacht catering service for VIP guests, Dubai International Boat Show TV (DIBS TV), and exciting Visit-and-Win promotions, including tickets to the semi-finals and finals matches of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
