Saturday, November 1, 2014, saw the official opening of the Horizon City Marina, representing the first specialized private superyacht marina in Taiwan. The marina was opened in a ceremony to celebrate the continued dedication to the growth of the yachting lifestyle in Taiwan. The Horizon Group invested millions of NT dollars to the development of the marina as a further example of the Group’s commitment to the Taiwanese yachting industry. The marina presently provides 40 berths, which can accommodate yachts from 12-40 meters in length.
November 1st 2014 was also the opening ceremony of the Argo Yacht Club, a business and leisure partner of the Horizon Group. The ceremony was initiated by Li Yong De, the vice mayor of Kaohsiung City who expressed his appreciation of the venture and his wishes for the continued growth of leisure yachting in Taiwan. Invited guests were treated to spectacular weather with a gentle breeze flowing through the Marina and served gourmet food while visiting the yachts in the marina. With the stars bright and the marina lights dancing on the water, Kaohsiung Harbor looked radiant and tranquil.
Due to the incentives provided by the Kaohsiung government to the growth of the marine leisure industry, there were 15 manufactures on hand during the day to meet and greet prospective employees at a specialized job fair. Being interviewed on the yachts in the marina the candidates were in awe of their surroundings and kept saying that this opportunity might only happen once in a life time!
Horizon Group has been promoting and assisting the growth of the leisure yacht industry in Taiwan for many years. Future plans at the marina are for a waterfront cafeteria and entertainment facilities to further enhance the appeal of the yacht club, this will create the first full service base for the marine leisure industry in Taiwan.
