The outstanding 1939 sailing yacht IDUNA was a remarkable project for the time. With a length of 30m (100’), she was the largest ketch in Holland and the largest Feadship built up until 1960. Captured in the photos below, shared by Feadship Fanclub, IDUNA was designed by De Voogt and built at Feadship’s Aalsmeer yard.
At the end of 1999, IDUNA was sailed to Viareggio to undergo the refit. Studio Faggioni worked on many different aspects of the rebuild of IDUNA, varying from the interior layout plans and illustrations to the sail plan drafts, and from the structural calculations to deck fittings.
After almost 3 years of extensive rebuild, IDUNA was successfully re-launched in 2002, completely restored to her former glory. Subsequently, she underwent another restoration in 2013, including some small modifications in the main saloon, as well as in the deck house dining room.
During the 2003 Navalis Boat Show in Venice, IDUNA received the Yacht Digest magazine award for “Best Restoration Project”. She is currently part of the Feadship Heritage Fleet.
