The all-new motor yacht Mangusta 165 E was launched from the Overmarine Group’s private wharf in Italy‘s Viareggio on Thursday, February 6. Representing the eighth unit of Maxi Open Mangusta fleet flagship, superyacht Mangusta 165 E will be shortly handed over to her new Owner during an official ceremony. She will make her world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2014 in September.
Since 2007, when Mangusta 165 yacht was first presented, this model has lent herself to becoming an icon and reference point on the world panorama: 8 units already in the water, with a ninth shortly to follow in fewer than 6 years tell of just how extraordinary and unique this Maxi Open is. Indeed, she is the pride of a Group which has known how to look forward and invest well over the past few years.
Measuring 50 metres in length, superyacht Mangusta 165 is able to reach a speed of 40 knots making her the fastest composite Maxi Open Yacht ever to be built. She knows no rivals in terms of comfort, either: the volumes of the yacht can be compared to a three deck vessel of the same dimension, although this cannot be gleaned from the outside owing to her pure lines and sporty profile.
The extraordinary combination of linear stress and expression of line gives this model an elegant character which is simultaneously distinctive and powerful. She is a masterpiece of distinctive, elegant, timeless design, conveying balance and dynamism and offering at the same time extremely high levels of onboard comfort, safety and practicality. This particular yacht is, however, even more unique, insomuch as she has been called 165 E, where ‘E’ stands for “Evolution”.
There are a number of new aesthetic-structural features, fruit of the Owner’s requests which the shipyard’s design department has interpreted perfectly and integrated into the yacht: a new side window, a large single pane of glass by the main salon, providing excellent visibility from the inside and letting in even more natural light. Moreover, alterations have been made to the flybridge, the superstructure of which has been redesigned in order to house a large U-shaped divan, giving this yacht more modern, aggressive lines.
In addition, there is a ‘top’ performance, where the word “performance” not only describes their dynamism and stability, but is also extended to on-board comfort: process control, the type of composite structures used, soundproofing, vibration control, ergonomic layouts, everything has been studied in painstaking detail in order to guarantee quality, excellence and wellbeing onboard at high speeds.
However, the Mangusta 165 E yacht is also unique because of the wealth and quantity of the materials used onboard. Valuable materials, lacquering and chromaticism have been used between the main salon and guest area, and also externally: more than 10 different kinds of woods and lacquering, all of which unique and valuable, at least 7 different kinds of marble, including exquisite Blue Tiger Eye, lots of precious leathers, like ray leather, and much more, glass, mother of pearl, onyx,..
