Oyster has raised a family to be proud of and to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary required a very special event to typify the ethos of Oyster Yachts.
The inaugural Oyster World Rally set off from Antigua in January 2013. A 27,000 mile odyssey of endless adventure to provide a truly amazing experience for Oyster owners and their guests. 28 Oysters are taking part from Canada, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, South Africa, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States, making the 2013 Oyster World Rally a truly international event.
No other yacht manufacturer has staged a world rally and the event took two years of meticulous planning. The fleet is followed around the world by Oyster’s dedicated project management team who are in constant contact with the fleet and Oyster Head Office. The Oyster World Rally enjoys unrivalled service and support for the entire duration of the circumnavigation. Organised rendezvous along the route, enable the Oyster fleet to share their memorable stories with one another and enjoy exclusive parties and events.
Oyster Yachts are recognised all over the world and that reputation combined with such careful preparation has reaped dividends, including rare scuba diving permits in The Galapagos Islands and permission to visit the Lau Islands of Fiji, closed to the outside world for decades.
Responding to huge interest in the inaugural event and with more than 15 Oyster Yachts already on the entry list, Oyster has announced a second World Rally starting in January 2016. Many sailors dream of sailing into the sunset and exploring the world, Oyster make that dream a reality.
