Last month saw Oyster Yachts proudly introduce two of their British world-class cruising yachts, sailing yacht Oyster 575 as well as the Oyster 825 superyacht Reina, at the Düsseldorf Boat Show 2015. The superbly designed and crafted Reina yacht was the largest sailing yacht on display for the second year running.
Oyster CEO David Tydeman said: “For the second year running, we were pleased to present a ‘best of both’ approach with the 3rd of our Oyster 825’s built by our Southampton yard, alongside the 26th Oyster 575 built by our Norfolk operation. Both yachts featured new concepts, not previously shown at boat shows, which demonstrate our willingness to work with our clients on customisation. This included the shallow draft, centreboard and twin rudder of the 575 complemented by the extended transom. On the Oyster 825, the new ‘Skyships’ technology to monitor and control on-board systems caught the imagination of many.”
The nine-day event fulfilled the expectations of many exhibitors including Oyster, with the 575 and 825 enticing buyers to join over 1,000 current Oyster owners, as two new contracts were closed during the 2015 show bolstering the order book to a total of 32 yachts.
David Tydeman continued: “We are in a very good position which is enabling us to look at expanding production resources at both facilities in Norfolk and Southampton, reinforced by the two new contracts signed at the show. With 4 yachts currently in commissioning, 14 in build and 14 waiting to start, we now look forward to presenting the range at our annual Private View event in London at St Katharine Docks at the end of April.”
The next show for Oyster will be the Miami International Boat Show 12 – 16 February where the British yacht builder will be presenting the Oyster 575.
