Özgün Yacht Design has been successfully nominated for the International Yacht & Aviation Award 2014, with motor yacht ‘Squalo Bianco’ concept. Superyacht Squalo Bianco will be competing for the ‘Yacht Concept over 30 metres‘ Award.
Luxury yacht Squalo Bianco is a 49 metre high speed full aluminium superyacht under 500 GT with a unique hull form and an elegant superstructure. Inspired from the oldest creatures in the blue-waters, the shark concept ‘Squalo Bianco’ (great white) is a remarkable vessel with an aggressive and impressive appearance, and able to transport owners and their guests in comfort over long distances.
The super-efficient hull form is designed as a combination of displacement and planing hull forms with three-level knuckle lines. The hull form is optimised subject to high speed and cruising speed wave forms and resistances in order to ensure high speed dynamic stability, good sea keeping and fuel efficiency. The yacht is designed to be built under 500 GRT as semi-displacement hull and superstructure in aluminium alloy with an exceptional 27 plus knots top speed and the Transatlantic range at cruising speed by twin diesel engines and linear jet propulsion system.
The Squalo Bianco yacht features main, bridge and sun decks. The full beam owner’s suite with full height cabin windows is isolated from all other accommodation on the fore main deck. On the lower deck, four guest suites have direct access to the main deck. The full beam main deck saloon houses the spacious dining and bar area, a particularly welcoming area to host all guests at the same time. Aft at the main deck level is a large endless pool for leisure and entertaining. The long tender garage located on the aft side at the lower deck permits side launching of tender boat and jet skis without disturbing the aft social area.
The bridge deck offers an extensive saloon with large side windows. The aft full size open air dining area with a bar is an additional social space for guests. Sun deck includes a Spa Pool for 6, a bar under the arch, sunbathing and relaxing area, loose seating and furniture. A uniquely-shaped carbon fiber mast keeps the striking shark fin look and saves weight aloft.
