Sidney Gavignet, skipper of the Arabian 100 trimaran Oman Air Majan, is attempting to break the single-handed Round Britain and Ireland record. Sailing yacht Oman Air Majan crossed the start line off the Lizard Point, Cornwall UK on Thursday the 19th of August 2010. The RORC have decided to reverse the course of the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race due to a severe weather forecast for the west coast of Ireland predicted for Thursday 26th August. The fleet will now race anti-clockwise around Britain and Ireland. The start remains unchanged from the Royal Yacht Squadron line to the east at 14.00. The 100 foot maxi sailing yacht Esimit Europa 2 was the first to cross the finish line in Monte Carlo, taking line honours in the Palermo-Monte Carlo Race.
