On the 14th of February at the Palumbo Superyachts Ancona shipyard, 80m/262ft luxury yacht DRAGON was given a special send-off with a spectacular launch ceremony.
The event was also held to celebrate the success of the shipyard since the 2011 investment in the superyacht industry by Guiseppe Palumbo.
Luxury yacht DRAGON joins the Columbus fleet along with award-winning luxury yacht DIVINE, ELEONORA, PRIMA and TAIBA. During the launch ceremony, a brand new Palumbo Superyachts syncrolift was used with the capacity to lift up to 3,300 tons. M/Y DRAGON has naval architecture and exterior styling from Hydro-Tec, while the interior styling was created by Francesco Guida.
Guest amenities are spread over six decks, including an Owner’s suite and private amenities on an exclusive deck. There are four other generous en-suite cabins on board for eight other guests as part of the 2,300 GT interior volume. An 8m/26ft counter-current swimming pool on the sundeck as well as a 200m2/2152ft2 beach club and a fully-equipped spa wellness centre on the fourth deck.
A pair of 2,240 kW MTU engines give a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and a range of over 6,000 nautical miles at an economical speed of 12 knots.
M/Y DRAGON was commissioned in 2016 by her highly experienced Owner and is due to leave the shipyard in summer 2019, following which she will make her public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019.
