Following the establishment of Palumbo Superyachts Refit, the company has announced that the first maintenance and refit has commenced on a 55m/180ft motor yacht named KINTA, which was hauled out of the water on the 11th of January.
Palumbo Superyachts leased the facilities in Savona from luxury yacht builders Mondomarine at the end of December after the ailing shipyard entered into bankruptcy liquidation.
The ISA yachts shipyard in Ancona was also recently acquired by Palumbo and is now one of the main production sites for the group, while the leasing of the Mondomarine facilities is in-line with company plans to expand and diversify the yard capabilities with a new build and refit division.
The Palumbo Superyachts division consists of Columbus Yachts, ISA Yachts and Palumbo Superyachts Refit, dedicated to the building of custom superyachts, semi-custom superyachts and refit and after-sales respectively. Columbus Yachts is ISA Yachts is currently building a 50m/164ft superyacht due for delivery in 2020.
