The Organising Committee of Marine15 is delighted to present Gold Coast Waterways Authority (GCWA) as an event partner. Marine15 will take place on the Gold Coast in Australia, running from May 3 to 5, 2015.
Organising Committee Chair Jeff d’Albora said the partnership support of GCWA is valued and most relevant given the event’s location and the themes being discussed at Marine15. “The Gold Coast is globally significant as a destination that incorporates extensive waterways and recreational boating is built into the fabric of the Gold Coast community DNA. Key topics at Marine15 will include how communities can best sustain and grow recreational boating and how boating can better integrate with tourism and the tourism industry”.
Marine15 is Asia Pacific’s biggest recreational marine business and safety conference and trade exhibition. CEO of GCWA Hal Morris said this significant event is exciting for not only the waterways users of the coast but for the entire community.
“One of the key strategic objectives of our 10 year Waterways Management Strategy is to shine a light on one of our city’s really undervalued assets, our waterways.”
“We want to turn the attention of the Gold Coast to the waterways and work towards better understanding and appreciation of the contributions made by and the opportunities for use of the waterways whilst also investing in better research and awareness” said Mr Morris.
The Marine15 Organising Committee comprises members of Boating Industries Alliance Australia, Marina Industries Association and the Australia New Zealand Safe Boating Education Group.
