The four days of competitive racing during the Pendennis Cup yacht race, taking place from 2nd – 7th July, 2012 will be complemented by a shore-side entertainments programme permitting Owners, Captains, Crew as well as the event sponsors to enjoy the delights of the fascinating port of Falmouth.
The full schedule is still being confirmed but events will be planned for each day/evening of the yacht regatta including:
Monday 2nd July: Yacht Registration
VIP reception (invite only) at the famous Rick Steins Seafood Bar and Restaurant
Tuesday 3rd July: Welcome BBQ at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club (RCYC)
A welcome event, held at the RCYC is designed to allow all competitors, sponsors and regatta organisers to enjoy each other’s company in the relaxed environment of the Club House, which itself is steeped in classic yacht racing history.
Wednesday 4th July: Sea Shanty evening
An opportunity for all crews and guests to relax and enjoy traditional Cornish hospitality with a Sea Shanty evening hosted by Falmouth’s famous Chain Locker pub overlooking the harbour.
Thursday 5th July: Owner & Crew lay day events
With two days of racing already completed the lay day provides a welcome break to the Owners, guests and crews on board the competing yachts. The Owners’ Moet & Chandon lunch reception will be complemented by an evening of live music at the Princess Pavilions.
Friday 6th July: Crew Curry night
The return of the ‘all you can eat’ curry night for the crews, which proved particularly popular in 2010!
Saturday 7th July 2012 – Presentation evening at Pendennis Castle
A spectacular location for the final celebration of the yacht regatta. The awards ceremony will be held at the Castle overlooking the bay, complemented by a full evening of entertainment to finish the week in a truly unique setting.
