Originally constructed by Pendennis in 2004, luxury charter yacht Margaret Ann is a spectacular 95-foot Dubois-designed sloop, boasting superb design, with classic Dubois features, such as the pilot house with raised seating area, as well as the careful placement of running gear as to offer an uncluttered foredeck area. When constructed, sailing yacht Margaret Ann was honoured with accolades from within the yachting industry, comprising her nomination as a finalist in the ISS awards.
Regularly chartered in the Mediterranean, superyacht Margaret Ann was well placed in October 2012 for a visit to the Pendennis Palma refit facility and the Owner was keen to bring the vessel back to her original builder. As the Captain, Simon Davison, explained “I had firsthand experience of Pendennis’ attention to detail and professionalism after being Captain onboard Catalyst of Fal during her two refits in Falmouth. I knew the team would be more than capable of executing the refit on Margaret Ann, and as her original builder it was great to be able to return her to the team that knew her so well. This refit has progressed very smoothly, and as such we have already booked to return Margaret Ann to Pendennis Palma in 2014 for the yacht’s 10 year survey.”
Her four-month programme of works included the installation of a new cutlass bearing and re-alignment of drive train; rejuvenation of the teak decking; paint works; new anchor chains and a generator rebuild. Margaret Ann yacht’s refit was closely managed by Pendennis and the Captain, with a blend of trusted local subcontractors used alongside Pendennis’ in-house engineering experts. Pendennis Palma also has a strong relationship with local joinery company Trappmann Interiors, who carried out all joinery works aboard Margaret Ann, with Pendennis able to provide all the original build information to assist with the smooth running of the refit.
Luxury charter yacht Margaret Ann was re-launched end of January 2013 and will spend the rest of the summer charter season around the Mediterranean.
