After the official launch in July, the new Pendennis facility based at STP in Palma de Mallorca has enjoyed an excellent start. Providing a more convenient base to its customers in the Mediterranean, over six refits have already been finished, comprising that of the 55m Adela superyacht, as well as 38m Jongert super yacht Gloria and the Perini Navi sailing yacht Andromeda La Dea.
Andromeda La Dea’s Captain, Mac Auwer, is happy to have access to a worldclass refit office convenient for their Mediterranean season: “Following the early 2011 refit at the Falmouth facility the new Palma base provides continuity of quality craftsmanship and professionalism that we have come to expect from Pendennis.”
Tim Dewhurst, the owner’s representative of the luxury yacht Gloria, has also been impressed by the new facility: “This is the first project within a Pendennis facility for Gloria, and it has been a pleasure to work alongside a team with such a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. It is certainly an excellent move for Pendennis to expand here and I am sure the Palma offering will grow from strength to strength.”
Director of the Palma facility, Charlie Ross, who was the chief Project Manager on the recently launched luxury catamaran yacht Hemisphere, is exceptionally pleased with the local reception and the high level of support since the office opened. His expertise in project management combined with a core crew of technical experts that have the backing of Pendennis’ experience of 130+ refits and over 30 new builds provide an invaluable resource. This expertise provides a reliable and professional refit team that successfully expands Pendennis’ support throughout Europe.
