Performance Yachts picked up not one, but two, prestigious awards last night at the Showboats Design Awards in Florida.
Competing against some of the best known names in the business, awards were presented to sailing yacht Liara for the Naval Architecture by Dixon Yacht Design and the modern technology on the Performance Yachts highly innovative lifting keel.
The lifting keel dramatically reduces draft in order to reach shallow anchorages but, when fully lowered, endows the yacht with sparkling performance; all this without intruding into the yachts interior. The same lifting keel technology is offered as an option across the entire Performance Yachts range.
The Showboats Design Awards were judged by an independent jury comprised of yacht owners, senior yacht crew and acclaimed designers and stylists from within, as well as outside, the marine industry; all are experts in their specific fields.
The Awards also introduced a number of new categories which honour the industry’s craft and design talents to the full. It is particularly satisfying for Performance Yachts that they are the first recipient of the Design and Technology award.
Performance Yachts recognise the considerable assistance given by Owen-Clarke Design who engineered the lifting keel.
