Once again this year, the leading Italian luxury yacht manufacturer, Perini Navi Group, is a partner at the most important regattas on the Caribbean yachting calendar, the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous as well as the St Barths Bucket Regatta, where nine yachts from the Perini Navi fleet will be racing.
The first event will be the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous. This event, organized by Boat International Media and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS,) will be held from March 20 to 23 in the British Virgin Islands. Twenty marvellous yachts divided into two categories – Cruising and Performance – will compete against the backdrop of fabulous natural scenery for the coveted Loro Piana Trophy 2013.
Representing Perini Navi will be charter yacht P2, a 38 M sloop from the PN racing line designed by Philippe Briand. P2 will be
defending her third place finish from the previous edition of this regatta. Also at the regatta will be charter yacht Parsifal III, a 54 M ketch designed in collaboration with Ron Holland.
There will be many social events to round off the competition ranging from a welcome cocktail, to dinner parties and a beach party. These events will be held at the YCCS Virgin Gorda Clubhouse until the final awards ceremony, scheduled for March 23.
The famous St Barths Bucket Regatta will be held from March 28 to 31. Here the Perini Navi Group will be present with nine yachts, confirming yet again the shipyard’s dominant position in this regatta. A total of thirty five yachts will compete in the waters around the island of St Barth to win the Bucket Trophy. The fleet will be divided into four classes: les Gazelles des Mers, les Grandes Dames des Mer, les Mademoiselle des Mers and J Class yachts.
Perini Navi yachts racing will be charter yacht Andromeda la Dea, charter yacht P2, Luna, charter yacht Panthalassa, charter yacht Parsifall III, Salute, charter yacht Zenji, charter yacht Silencio and charter yacht Maltese Falcon. All Perini Navi yachts present will be competing for the Perini Navi Trophy, but only the top classified will win.
The Bucket also has an intense social programme to compliment the racing that will start with the SuperYacht Racing Association Spring Meeting on March 27 and will continue throughout the event up until the final prize giving.
