The Pershing 82’ motor yacht, the latest yacht from the Ferretti Group brand was awarded “Best design trophy”, “Best layout trophy” and “Best innovation trophy” among the over 24 metres yachts, at the World Yacht Trophy 2012 in Cannes organized by the French editorial group Luxmedia.
Pershing, brand of the Ferretti Group, among the leading international manufacturers of high performance open motor yachts, ranging from 15 to 35 metres, ends the 35th edition of Festival de La Plaisance in Cannes in style by obtaining three important awards for the Pershing 82’ motor yacht, the internationally premiered model at the French event.
At the World Yacht Trophy, the best boats, exhibited by the leading shipyards from all over the world, and judged by an international body of experts, were given awards. Pershing won the most prestigious awards of the “Sport Yacht over 24 mt” category: “Best design trophy”, “Best layout trophy” and “Best innovation trophy”.
It was a huge success for the Pershing 82’ yacht model designed by the Yacht Designer Fulvio De Simoni in collaboration with AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology – the naval research and design centre of the Ferretti Group) and the team of architects and designers of the Centro Stile Ferretti Group.
82 feet of cutting edge design, a sporty performance and top comfort for on board living are the features that distinguished Pershing 82’ from various categories, obtaining all the awards at the Cote D’Azur.
A contemporary reinterpretation of the famous Pershing 80’, this new vessel was designed to enhance the pleasure of yachting and to ensure maximum performance at sea: thanks to two powerful MTU 16 V 2000 M93 of 2435 mhp (1792 kW) with Searex SR140S of ZF propulsion system, together with Rolla surface piercing propellers, it is capable of reaching a top speed of more than 45 knots with a range of 300 nautical miles. The propulsion system is run by AUTOTRIM, an exclusive functionality that optimizes the performance and the consumption of the boat at any speed and with any load, in a completely automatic manner.
As regards the external lines, the eye-capturing distinctive features of Pershing 82’ are the elongated superstructure and the new sun-deck with its optional retractable helm station, a typical feature of the new Pershing, which provides an additional sunbathing area at guests’ disposal. The sun-deck can be reached from an innovative carbon steel staircase, which can be lowered electro-hydraulically into the cockpit and which disappears upwards automatically.
Below deck, where comfort and design reign, the internal layout of the first hull of motor yacht Pershing 82’ has 4 guest cabins: the master suite amidships, a VIP cabin forward and 2 cabins with twin beds at the bow of the master suite. Additionally, there are 2 crew cabins (one for the captain and one for the sailors) equipped with a laundry room and a bathroom. The long-standing partnership with Poltrona Frau, that designed the sofas of the saloon, the pilot house and many other leather details was once again renewed. However, many other prestigious brands were used for the finishings, such as the washbasin by Antonio Lupi and the lamps by Cassina.
“I am very pleased with the three awards that Pershing 82’ has obtained at the beginning of the new nautical year, which is a good sign for the future” – commented Nada Serafini, Brand Manager of Pershing – “In fact, the World Yacht Trophy is an award that acknowledges the work carried out by the whole company, acknowledging the innovative drive and the continuous research towards excellence. In the light of this, Pershing 82’ is a project on which a team of experts has been working for over a year with the common objective of creating an avant-garde yacht that takes the Made in Italy around the world”.
The unique aesthetic solutions, the unmatched performance and the particular attention given to comfort make Pershing 82’ the new point of reference for the nautical market of large boats.
