The impressive 75m (250ft) tall ship STAD AMSTERDAM is currently cruising the Mediterranean and was photographed in Tuscany by yachting enthusiast and photographer, Roberto Malfatti. Charter yacht STAD AMSTERDAM is a very unique vessel and a large classic sailing ship clipper, constructed in the modern era using modern technology. Stad Amsterdam clipper was constructed between 1997 and 2000 and was christened in the new Millennium. This magnificent tall ship draws attention in every port she visits. She was built by Damen Oranjewerf, refitted in 2009 and is kept in excellent condition.
Twenty-eight charter guests will find accommodation in 14 cabins; and the ship is managed by a attentive crew of 30 experienced sailors and trainees. All cabins feature en suite bathroom with wash stand, shower and a toilet, air-conditioning and telephone with satellite connection. The wood and copper trimmings give the cabins a classical feel.
With 29 sails this square rigger can reach 17 knots under sail. There are also on board conference facilities, great for business meetings and get-togethers, seating up to 40 guests.
Stad Amsterdam’s long room boasts a luxury bar and a small library for guests to relax. It seats up to 55 guests during lunch or dinner. The warm woodwork, luscious copper and circular staircase with graceful lattice work all recall the legendary sailing yacht, clipper Cutty Sark. Of course, all modern audiovisual equipment is available for presentations and such.
