The organizers of the upcoming Phuket Yacht Show have announced that the Show will feature the 34-metre motor yacht Azul A (ex Xanadu, Bonita J). Originally built by the prestigious Dutch manufacturer Moonen in 1997, superyacht Azul A has been beautifully refitted earlier this year. The event will take place from February 12 to 15 at Yacht Haven Marina, a beautiful Phuket yacht charter destination, nestled in Thailand.
The Phuket Yacht Show is attracting exhibitors from all around the globe, who see the great opportunity for the luxury yacht charter and brokerage market in South East Asia. The latest addition to the Show is Fraser Yachts, presenting 34m Moonen super yacht Azul A.
“Fraser Yachts is excited about presenting M/Y Azul A at the Phuket Yacht Show. She would be perfect for the Asian-based cruising enthusiast as she combines relaxed luxury with ocean-going capabilities, including stabilisers for a smoother on-water experience,” explained broker Jan Jaap Minnema of Fraser Yachts.
Luxury yacht Azul A is a fantastic platform to enjoy the outstanding cruising grounds of South East Asia. She accommodates up to eight guests in four cabins and has a crew of six to provide for your every possible need. Her 2.3m draft means she can reach many beautiful spots that yachts with a large draft are unable to visit, and her modern stabiliser system means that guests will feel comfortable without any sensation of rolling at anchor.
The Phuket Yacht Show is strategically held in the tourist and cruising high season for the island to maximise the exhibitors’ and partners’ exposure to the discerning traveller and yacht owner already visiting the island.
“Two years ago, there was a limited number of yachts visiting Asia. However we are now seeing an increase in interest for this region as our owners and charter clients discover the difference and benefits of cruising the winter season in Asia,” commented Fraser Yachts’ global marketing manager, Lisa Peck.
Phuket’s appeal to the region’s HNWI only continues to grow as the Phuket Gazette, media partner to the Phuket Yacht Show, highlighted in a recent article. In the first quarter of 2014, not only did the visitor arrivals to Phuket increase but so did the number of international airlines servicing the island, supplying predominantly Chinese and Russian guests. Along with a strong contingent of continental Europeans, the visitors to Phuket are staying in the best hotels and villa developments.
“Our decision to launch the Phuket Yacht Show was a considered one. In order to grow the appetite for yachting in the region, you need to promote the destinations which sell the lifestyle and Phuket does a superb job in that manner,” said Phuket Yacht Show’s organiser, Mr Andy Treadwell.
The Show has also partnered with Dewa Resort at Nai Yang Beach to offer discounted rates for exhibitors. It is estimated that over 300,000 visitors will travel to Phuket in the month of February 2015, so the Show highly recommends brokers and industry members wishing to attend the four-day event to book accommodation at the Dewa, which is conveniently located just 15 minutes from Yacht Haven Marina.
