Italian designer Gabriele Teruzzi has released a 42m/137.8ft design concept known as luxury yacht ELLE.D to mark the first year of his company, Gabriele Teruzzi Yacht & Design, as an independent design studio.
After catching the industry’s attention with the unique raised Owner’s cabin concept of superyacht SHADDAI 150 back in 2016, the latest luxury yacht brings together some of the same concepts as well as the modern trend for full-height windows and large outdoor spaces to create a new breath-taking functional design. Andrea Agrusta from NavalHEAD contributed the technical engineering to the concept, while the interiors and exteriors are the work of Gabriele Teruzzi.
On the main deck, the aft formal dining area and alfresco lounge flow seamlessly with only glass sliding doors as a barrier between the two areas. Warm yellow and rose golds are contrasted by stark white fabrics in the upholstery, and the dark wooden flooring is matched by the surrounding wooden furniture.
The lower deck features a waterfall flowing from the main deck into a glass-sided pool, where a swim-up bar is placed to also serve guests resting on the chaise-loungers or seated as a group in the beach club. The lower deck accommodation has generously-proportioned windows to ensure that occupants are never wanting for natural light or views close to the water.
The Master suite is a desirable contemporary retreat offering floor-to-ceiling windows and plenty of lounging space where all guests need do is pull a curtain across for privacy. Widescreen TV and audio entertainment are seamlessly integrated into the surroundings.
A high-rise feel is evident in the design features, such as the upper deck skylounge which ends in a wrap-around full-height glass window without an outdoor area to obscure the views behind.
Above, the sundeck is ready for dining and entertaining a large group, who have uninterrupted views of the local scenery. Similarly, the foredeck has an abundance of social areas and the central glass-sided spa pool is surrounded by an L-shaped sofa in both aft corners and a row of sunbeds in front. Subtle floor lighting ensures that the area is as usable at night as it is during the day.
“With SHADDAI 150, I showed the world what omnipotence translates to,” Gabriele Teruzzi said of his 2016 design. “ELLE.D 42 shows it is possible to transpose the same experience to other ranges, offering an integrated lifestyle experience through innovative designs.”
