Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology is thrilled to announce that it has installed the entire electrical systems on board three luxury vessels: the 47m Acico charter yacht LADY DEE, the 49m Acico motor yacht NASSIMA, as well as the 46m Vulcan 46 superyacht Le Caprice V, constructed by Vicem Yachts in Turkey.
The cutting-edge technology installed by Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology onboard these yachts included an Active Harmonic Filter (AHF), which delivers a stable onboard power supply that eliminates all harmonic interference and guarantees maximum operational comfort onboard. Another example is the crossover box, which improves the user-friendliness and operational reliability onboard for the engineers.
A subsidiary of Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology, Marble Automation, supplied the monitoring and control systems onboard these three yachts. The super-yachts “Nassima” and “Lady Dee” were also fitted with a Marble Automation alarm system. The alarm schematics are displayed on Hatteland monitors, which also show the status of the integrated General Alarm. In addition, a Marble Automation tank content measurement system was also fitted in the yachts. Because the tank tables can be fully imported into the Marble Automation system, a very accurate reading can be obtained for the tank content. The precise location of the tank is indicated on a diagram of the yacht in the control panel.
The Marble Automation control panel can also be used to operate the pumps and to check the current status of the batteries. This information is displayed in a way that is designed to enhance operational simplicity. A diagram showing the location of the watertight doors and windows can also be displayed on the control panel in the bridge of the yachts. Another additional feature that can be accessed with the bridge monitor is the position and status of all navigation lighting. The alarm systems on the motor yachts “Nassima” and “Lady Dee” are displayed using a separate screen in the mess room. This ensures the crew can take action immediately whenever necessary. Finally, the fire alarm system is linked to the Marble Automation system via Modbus, which gives a clear overview of the fire alarms in a diagram of the yacht.
The portfolio of super-yachts that have been fitted with the electrical systems of Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology and the monitoring systems of Marble Automation has grown exponentially in recent years. Shipyards prefer Piet Brouwer because of the solution-orientated focus of the organisation. Negotiations are currently ongoing with various yacht builders for the installation of similar systems onboard other sail yachts and motor yachts.
