The Dutch company, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology, designs and delivers complete electrical, navigation and alarm systems for new yachts as well as commercial vessels. The company also offers service and maintenance for electrical installations and provides comprehensive refit solutions, for example when an existing system is due for an update or needs replacing. An example of this is the recent order for the replacement of the monitoring & alarm system aboard the 43-metre sailing yacht Espiritu del Xarey, based in Newport, USA.
Superyacht Espiritu del Xarey was completed in 2002 by Vitters Shipyard as Whirlaway. She was initially equipped with a state-of-the-art monitoring and alarm system supplied by Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology in close cooperation with its subsidiary Marble Automation. The yacht has now sailed the oceans for more than ten years, and the installed systems have functioned efficiently and smoothly.
This summer Espiritu del Xarey yacht will enjoy a thorough refit, including an upgrade to the electrical systems. The yacht will be fitted with the latest technology and the best possible systems: For instance, the alarm, monitoring and sail control systems will be equipped with the latest PLCs and touchscreens. In this way the owners will ensure a modern, safe and reliable electrical system for their crew during the coming years. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology is honoured to have been awarded this fascinating task, which shows the appreciation of the company’s long-standing relationship with the crew of this amazing superyacht.
“We are very pleased that it will be the Dutch company Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology who does this work,” says Espiritu del Xarey yacht’s captain Xurxo Gomez. “This guarantees us the best possible quality and a continuation of the excellent service we have enjoyed over the past decade.”
The refit will be carried out by the field engineers from Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology in Newport in the United States. In addition to this order, other systems were also recently delivered in the Middle East (Dubai) and a major project is currently being realised in Africa. The mission of the Urk-based company is to be the ‘World’s best electrical partner’.
