Poole Harbour Commissioners’ (PHC) Port of Poole Marina has been voted the UK’s second best luxury yacht marina of the year at this year’s London Boat Show. The Port of Poole Marina, which opened in June 2011, can berth up to 70 boats on an annual basis, with the berths varying in length from 4-20m. The Marina also has the facility to berth visiting superyachts of up to 60m in length during the summer season.
The marina was shortlisted among three other finalists in the GJW Marina of the Year competition which was organised by The Yacht Harbour Association to celebrate customer service in the marina sector. Nominations were open to all UK marinas that have a Gold Anchor rating and winners of each category were determined by a panel of independent judges who decided the finalists based solely on customer feedback.
Jim Stewart, chief executive of Poole Harbour Commissioners, said: “We are very proud to have received this accolade and it’s incredibly rewarding knowing it’s our customers who have voted for us. John and his staff have worked tirelessly to provide a welcoming marina with fantastic facilities.”
John Binder, marina manager, added: “We want to say a big thank you to all our customers both for their votes and for their on-going support. We look forward to seeing you all in 2014.”
