Southern Wind are thrilled to announce that the powerful SW102 superyacht FARFALLA placed second in real time in the 30th edition of the ARC, from Las Palmas to St. Lucia in the Caribbean. There is no time to rest however for the beautiful FARFALLA as she is currently preparing for her first charter of the season in the Grenadines.
After 11 days 6 hours 30 mins at sea and just over 3000 nm covered, FARFALLA crossed the finish line at 19.15 local time with her Owner and crew enjoying the inaugural ice cold glass of rum punch as they reached the dock.
Despite losing two kites, there were few other setbacks and with plenty of whale sightings, a well fed and happy Owner and crew and some amazing sailing, the ARC has lived up to its reputation as being a ‘must do’ for any keen sailor.
The race was completed by the VO65 TEAM BRUNEL in a record breaking 8d 7h 39m 30s, beating the previous record set by the super-maxi Farr 100 charter yacht LEOPARD.
