On the 20th March, 100 days to go to the opening, Mun Soo Kim the Governor of Gyeonggi-do demonstrated his confidence in preparations being carried out smoothly for the successful opening of the Boat Show. Composition of the executive secretariat, selection of the agencies as well as attracting participants are among the major agenda for the success of the Korea International Boat Show, which will take place in Jeongok Port, Hwasung City for 5 days from May 30th to 3rd June.
A person in the provincial government working on this project informed that the spectators’ satisfaction will be higher than ever because there will be diverse eye catching events and amusements together with the beautiful sight of 192 boats and yachts berthed at the marina. The completion of the 2nd stage marina in Jeongok Port this year will contribute to the success of this event.
The indoor exhibition hall presents multiple exhibitions of the boat, yacht, fishing, scuba diving and other outdoor facilities. The program for the general spectators has been provided such as obtaining the boat license, fishing lessons and etc. The opportunity to take photos of the world’s most luxurious boats will be provided in this year also.
The province of Gyeonggi has confirmed the participation of 20 companies including the buyers, and member companies of maritime association in advanced countries such as the USA and Australia. It is also performing target marketing strategies for the social class with willingness and resources to purchase the boats.
The spectators can experience various maritime leisure activities such as the dinghy yacht, scuba diving, canoeing, cayaking and hydro biking. Also, a beach volley ball competition is scheduled to be held.
Korea International Boat Show joined the International Federation of Boat Show last year and entered MOU for mutual cooperation with the Maritime Association of Italy. On the back of such progress and the attention from the global world, the Korea International Boat Show signed a site agreement of KRW 62.8 billion. It has also successfully put together an agreement for localization of dinghy yachts and catamaran sailing vessels.
