June 23, 2013, saw the all-new 48-metre motor yacht Bayterek (Project ULBA) make her first pre-trial cruise in the open waters of the Ust-Kamenogorsk reservoir in Kazakhstan, in preparation for the programs of mooring and sea trials. Superyacht Bayterek has been launched at the Samussky ship-building and ship-repair plant and developed by the Ukrainian design studio, ProLine Yacht Design & Engineering.
In addition to the personnel of the building contractor, the first pre-trial cruise of the 48m luxury yacht Bayterek in the blue waters of Ust-Kamenogorsk reservoir was attended by many official personalities, including the representatives of the client, officials of the State Enterprise “The Shipping Register of Kazakhstan”, Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kazakhstan Republic, Director and Chief Designer of ProLine Yacht Design and Engineering.
The program of the cruise included the tests and inspection of the main engine and the steering/propulsion complex in different operational conditions, as well as the testing of ship systems and mechanisms, particularly – the functionality of mast lowering electrohydraulic drive. Special attention was given to the technique of passing the lock chambers.
The area where the superyacht was cruising is full of bridges, chambers, rocky reefs, and required from Bayterek yacht the abilities of passing the shallow waters and places with low air draft.
After the successive passing of lock chambers, the speed of 12.6 knots (23.3 km/h) was registered in open waters of Ust-Kamenogorsk basin at medium engine revs. All main systems and mechanisms were operating normally, and the program of the first pre-trial cruise was completed with a great success.
Measuring 48,4 meters in length over all, superyacht Bayterek (Project Ulba) has a displacement of 420 tons and provides about 1160 sq. meters of living space. She was constructed under the supervision of the Russian River Register for a client from the Kazakhstan Republic.
