Wednesday’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards saw the PR team at marketing and communications agency, McKenna Townsend, receive the prize for best Corporate and Business Communications Campaign for its work with the UK luxury yacht builder, Fairline Boats. The agency, which has a specialist marine division, won a total of seven awards, which also comprised Outstanding PR Consultancy of the year.
The glitzy ceremony was held at St Mary’s Stadium, home to Premiership front-runners Southampton FC, and honoured PR practitioners in the CIPR’s Wessex and Channel Islands region, which includes companies from across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The agency, which provides regional, national and international PR support for a range of clients including the SUBWAY® brand, Fairline Boats, Williams Performance Tenders, MDL Marinas, and Condor Ferries, was shortlisted in five categories, finally walking away with five Gold and two Silver awards.
Matt McKenna, co-managing director of McKenna Townsend, said: “What an amazing night for the agency. We were particularly pleased to win the award for Corporate and Business Communications Campaign for our work with Fairline, a great testament to the hard work and professionalism of the agency’s marine team who work tirelessly for our clients. We are now looking forward to working on more award-winning campaigns for our clients.”
CIPR President Sue Wolstenholme FCIPR, added: “The Wessex CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the very best public relations campaigns, teams and individuals from across Dorset, Hampshire and the Channel Islands.
