Princess Yachts has chosen leading marine electronics manufacturer Simrad Yachting to fit its market leading chart plotters, radars and autopilots as standard on a number of its latest boats. Princess yachts that will be offered with the latest Simrad electronics include the Princess 60 motor yacht and Princess 64, and the all-new Princess V39.
Princess has fitted the Simrad RS87 premium VHF radio across its range for some years, but the recent introduction of Simrad’s new range of NSS, NSE and NSO multi-function chart plotters prompted the company to re-evaluate the options available in the marine electronics market.
Following an exhaustive trial at the start of the year, Princess selected the 12-inch NSE as the standard fit for their 60ft and 64ft fly bridge motor yachts, along with Simrad Yachting’s AP24 autopilot, 6kW HD radar and of course the RS87 VHF radio. The SonicHub™ entertainment centre, StructureScan™ sounder and AIS transceiver are also available as additional options.
The V39, launching in early 2012, has been designed as a high quality, competitively priced boat and Simrad Yachting products were selected to provide the core systems on the basis that they echo those attributes perfectly.
“We’re very pleased to have extended our relationship with Princess,” said Simrad Yachting UK Managing Director George Pollard. “We have worked with the Princess team for many years, and we are delighted that our new range of class-leading chartplotters, radar and other navigation instruments will be available on Princess yachts.”
Will Green, Sales Director of Princess Yachts, added: “We put the new equipment from Simrad Yachting through detailed trials and the units performed exceptionally well. Offering our customers the latest equipment is very important and we look forward to working with Simrad on these and future opportunities.”
