Specialist marina consultancy, Marina Projects Ltd, is delighted to report that they have appointed Guy Armitt as their new Project Manager for 2013. Guy Armitt joins to additionally expand the Marina Projects offer, adding valuable mixed-use waterside development experience. Armitt’s role will comprise work on the consultancy’s worldwide project portfolio.
Guy joins Marina Projects from Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc where he held the position of Development Executive, responsible for the company’s mixed-use development portfolio. A key project was the delivery of King Point Marina where Guy was Project Leader, responsible for the negotiation and completion of legal contracts; negotiation of build contracts for the wave gate, facilities building and pontoons/piling; the design of the facilities building, wave gate and marina; as well as obtaining requisite consents, including negotiations with Associated British Ports and The Duchy of Cornwall.
Previous roles held include Development Manager for Isis Waterside Regeneration with responsibility for the company’s mixed-use development portfolio in the South East; and Land Manager at St George West London Ltd, working on a broad spectrum of high profile riverside development sites.
Guy’s extensive mixed-use waterside development experience enhances the already wide knowledge and expertise of the Marina Project’s team. Guy’s involvement in and significant enjoyment of the creation of King Point Marina led to a desire to focus on marina and waterfront development; he commented, “I have been impressed by the nature and professionalism of Marina Projects work and am very much looking forward to being a part of the team, they cover a broad scope of projects which I am excited to be involved in.”
As well as working in the marine industry, Guy is passionate about the marine environment and enjoys water based activities including sailing, paddle boarding, surfing, windsurfing and free-diving. Guy has two young boys with his partner of 12 years and thoroughly enjoys fatherhood.
