The Marina Industries Association (MIA) has reaccredited the multi-award winning Marina at Keppel Bay, a beautiful Singapore yacht charter location, as a 5 Gold Anchor marina. This great news follows the MIA’s recent audit.
Marina at Keppel Bay (MKB) was the first marina in Asia to be awarded an MIA Gold Anchor rating for services and facilities in 2010 following the launch of the International Gold Anchor Rating Scheme for marinas in 2009. Gold Anchor ratings were developed by MIA for the Asia Pacific region and are designed to provide boat and marina users with a simple way to determine which marinas best fit their needs via a reference system similar to star ratings for hotels.
The 5 Gold Anchor is the highest accreditation awarded under the International Rating Scheme for marinas. Marina at Keppel Bay has been subjected to a rigorous assessment including an independent audit of services, facilities and infrastructure to pass the 101 audit points.
MIA Executive Officer Colin Bransgrove and Director Jeff d’Albora presented Marina at Keppel Bay with its 5 Gold Anchor certification in Sydney. Colin Bransgrove said, “Marina at Keppel Bay continues to provide industry leadership in Asia by embracing the certification which is designed to keep marina businesses at the forefront of best practice. Marina at Keppel Bay is to be congratulated once again for setting the highest standard for marinas across the Asian region.”
Receiving the certificate and flag on behalf of Marina at Keppel Bay, Trevor Fong, Head of Marina Management at Keppel Land Hospitality Management (KLHM) and General Manager of the MKB shared, “Since our accreditation as the first Asian 5 Gold Anchor marina in 2010, we remain steadfast in our commitment to the objectives of the Gold Anchor Scheme which focuses on providing our boaters, members and guests the highest standards of services, facilities and infrastructure. We are also pleased to share that we are a ‘green’ marina, one that upholds the highest environmental standards and advocates eco-friendly practices. We are heartened that our efforts have garnered regional and international recognition in the industry. Our reaccreditation supports our ultimate aim of delivering a true waterfront lifestyle at Keppel Bay and will spur us on our journey towards achieving excellence.”
Colin Bransgrove said Gold Anchor ratings are an excellent way for the growing recreational boating community across the Asia Pacific region to identify marinas that meet their needs. “It also indicates to marina users that Gold Anchor marinas are willing to submit themselves to external expert assessment that benchmarks them against industry best practice”.
