Before the Monaco Yacht Show 2019, Sinot Yacht Design unveiled the new futuristic superyacht concept AQUA. Lateral Naval Architects developed the naval architecture and engineering aspects of this 112m yacht. She features a hydrogen and fuel cell technology system, which opens new boundaries in yacht capabilities these days.
The unique exterior design provides smooth shapes and sleek lines with a pointy bow and prolonged stern. Some of the unique features of AQUA is her capsule-shaped wheelhouse with 360-degree views and an observation room placed at the bow.
Guest accommodation is placed forward of the yacht, while the living areas are spread toward to beach club. The beach club is equipped with a downward sloped pool with a waterfall – another extraordinary feature.
A total of 14 guests can sleep across seven staterooms, while the crew quarters will provide space for 31 staff members. The dedicated owner’s area hosts a large bathroom, dressing room and private Spa. One of the VIP staterooms is styled with Japanese decor with a detailed and minimalistic design.
The high ceiling ranging from 2.8 to 3.8 metres create airy and bright spaces, while the full-height windows provide awe-inspiring views of the surroundings.
Designer Sander Sinot mentioned: “For development of AQUA we took inspiration from the lifestyle of a discerning, forward-looking owner, the fluid versatility of water and cutting-edge technology to combine this in a 112m superyacht with truly innovative features.”
Design for smooth cruising, relaxation and wellness at sea, AQUA features a hydro-massage room, gymnasium and dedicated spaces for yoga and meditation.
The yacht power system is based on liquified hydrogen, which is converted into electricity which is then transferred across the entire yacht. The electrical power is kept in large batteries to ensure that loads are always met. This system also provides noise reduction and minimum vibrations while underway.
AQUA is expected to have a top speed of 17 knots, and a cruising speed of 10-12 knots with a range of 3,750nm.
