This year’s 10th edition of the prestigious World Superyacht Awards is set to take place on the evening of Saturday, May 9, 2015 and guests of the event are beginning to arrive in the eclectic city of Amsterdam.
The awards are destined for yachts belonging to such categories as displacement motor yachts and semi-displacement motor yachts, sailing yachts, refit and rebuilt yachts, all handed over last year, as well as owners that have undertaken an remarkable voyage within the preceding two years. Winning yachts and their owners will be honoured with a Neptune trophy, recognizing excellence in superyacht build and design.
The judging panel, composed of experienced superyacht owners, were “quick to acknowledge that every finalist is a magnificent vessel in its own right, and that merely being singled out as a worthy yacht for them to consider is an accolade for its owner, designers and builder,” said Roger Lean-Vercoe, Chairman of the Judges.
The event will start on Friday evening with a gorgeous cocktail party at the prestigious West-Indisch Huis. In addition to a glamorous gala evening on Saturday night, for which this esteemed group of superyacht owners, industry specialists and creative teams gather, guests are invited to explore the city’s cultural offerings and rich maritime history.
Moreover, guests are to visit the exclusive world-renowned shipyards: AMELS, Feadship, Heesen and Royal Huisman. Each yard will offer tours of their amazing facilities, together with a rich hospitality programme in the run up to the main event.
